# Lexi Love reveals HIV status after Trump removes resources from federal website

Lexi Love, the high-energy queen who slayed on RuPaul’s Drag Race season 17, is making waves for more than just her iconic lip-syncs. She recently opened up about being HIV-positive while dragging the Trump administration for gutting vital LGBTQ+ and HIV resources.

On Trump’s inauguration day, his team wiped the Spanish-language version of the White House website, stripped accessibility features, and—brace yourselves—completely erased LGBTQ+ and HIV-related info from federal pages.

Lexi didn’t hold back, taking to Instagram to vent her frustration and share her truth. “This move directly impacts my health and well-being as a performer,” she wrote. “I’m personally affected by this and will do everything I can to find resources for myself and the community I’m connected to. I’m sorry, y’all—this is hard, it’s insulting, and it’s downright frustrating.”

Lexi’s unapologetic transparency is giving the fight for HIV awareness and LGBTQ+ rights a fierce new face.

Lexi’s post was flooded with support from her followers, but of course, a few trolls just had to show up, clearly clueless about why having HIV info and resources on government websites actually matters.

When one person asked, “Do people even go to the government website for that stuff?” Lexi didn’t hold back and shared her personal experience.

“I relied on a government-funded program for over 10 years—it’s literally the reason I’m still alive today,” she clapped back.

“My heart is shattered by how little education there is about HIV protection in our community,” Lexi wrote in the caption of a screenshot showing her clapback to the commenter. “I really didn’t think I’d have to explain myself like this today, but clearly, it’s necessary.”

By speaking her truth, Lexi’s joined the ranks of drag queens who aren’t afraid to risk it all by calling out those in power. It’s even more badass when you consider she’s a trans queen doing this in a political climate where Trump’s administration made it crystal clear—through executive orders, no less—that only binary male and female genders would be recognized. Lexi’s standing tall, and we’re here for it.
